The Star Trek star challenges 50 Cent to use his influence for good after the rapper tweeted an antigay message that seemed to encourage teen suicide last week.

Star Trek star Zachary Quinto tweeted in response to rapper 50 Cent, who posted a tweet last week that many people interpreted as antigay and ill-timed, given the recent gay teen suicides.
Last week following news that at least five young gay men had killed themselves after being bullied, 50 Cent seemed to suggest in a tweet that any man who was not sexually interested in women should kill himself immediately. 50 Cent later attempted to clarify the message, but Quinto, a gay rights activist, appeared unmoved by the explanation.
”You know what would truly make the world a better place?” tweeted Quinto at the rapper, according to Towleroad.com, “if people with as much influence and privilege as you spread hope, not hate.”
